David Gavin heads for some digs outside of Istanbul to complete his article on the Hittites. But there is more than the ancient past buried at the site. . . there's a fifty-year-old murder and a stolen treasure. . . all vaguely linked with Stephenson who had been part of the original archaeological team half a century ago. Somehow it all adds up to excavated nonsense.
