Williamson is uneven in his work, and this is one of his better books. A boy's tale of adventure in the Argentine. A youth whose father has been imprisoned for killing a man in fair fight, pals up with a young outlaw, and the two of them fall into difficulties through breaking down the fences of a ranchero, through being party to eating the meat of a stolen cow, a registered beast, and through a rodeo, they come in contact with the ranchero himself. The young gaucho is employed -- the other youth tries to tempt him away, in vain. Good yarn, with new material.
