A good yarn, off the beaten track, is this picture of the early Florida land booms and politics. Steven, postman who delivers mail the length of the beach from Palm Beach to Miami, is the focus of the tale, which has its full complement of hurricane, wreck, battle with beachcombers, birth and death, as well as a love triangle, and the interplay of inter-community politics. Steven sometimes takes ""foot passengers"" along, and one of these is Adie, with whom he falls in love, and another is Sylvanus, real estate promoter, who also fancies the girl. An original story, novel entertainment.
