RESCUE FOR BROWNIE

Thirteen-year-old Kenny Watson and Mike Mooney, twelve, are united in their loyalty to Brownie, a stray dog, who in the poor section of their mid-western town is threatened with annihilation. Together they plot to hide and feed him, a plot which involves them in a cattle rustling crime. It is only after pressure, both from their families and the criminals, that Brownie and his advocates emerge as the heroes of the day. A warm story with a Catholic atmosphere, reminiscent of the Our Gang genre.
