A REPORTER AT THE PAPAL COURT

The comparison that must be made is with Pope Pius XI and World Affairs by William Teeling, published by Stokes on September 9th. The Teeling book is far wider in scope, more critical in approach; the Morgan book is a personal and limited study of the man, as known to the most favored of the American correspondents. The sale of the Morgan book should be wider in Roman Catholic circles, of the Teeling book in circles of people interested in the Vatican as a factor in current history. The mechanics of the working of the Papal Court are interesting in a limited sense, but one feels that the view of the Pope is definitely a biased one.
