by Thomas Molnar ‧ RELEASE DATE: May 8, 1965
The author of this acute and refreshingly personal survey maintains that the news we usually get about Africa is ""neither true nor false: it is mostly irrelevant."" The book does not necessarily stand or fall on the strength of Mr. Molnar's opinions alone; rather, it is his ability to pull aside the cliche curtain in his assessments of such issues as communism in Africa, neocolonialism, and the future of a multiracial continent. In his introduction, the author explains that his book is not an attempt at preachment but an effort to understand Africa. His reports of at-the-source interviews are vivid and he pays the general reader the compliment of letting these interviews speak for themselves.
