by Thorne Smith ‧ RELEASE DATE: July 25, 1941
Posthumous book by the creator of Topper -- completed by Norman Matson. With mangled arguments, more than enough drinking and going-to-bed scenes, a sedate widower, a sort of Mr. Milquetoast, finds himself married to a witch who spells on him and on his secretary. Her corporeal death fails to free him, for her spirit carries on, malevolently, in the body of an old horse. Drink seems a way out, and our Mr. Wooly lands in numerous predicaments. In the Thorne Smith tradition, but not ranking the early books. A spot of light, sometimes hilarious, entertainment.
