by Thyra Ferre Bjorn ‧ RELEASE DATE: April 26, 1958
A mixture of fact and fiction, this is the story of a little Swedish girl's growing up in her father's parsonage in Lapland, her first love, the family's removal to America, her marriage and the flowering of her career as a writer. Since Mrs. Bjorn is the author of Papa's wife, one can presume that most of this material is autobiographical. It has much intrinsic charm, but the approach is so naive in tone, so episodic in presentation that the heroine and her problems fail to grasp and hold the reader's interest and sympathy.
