I loved it. Everyone who likes gardens -- or who has a sentimental idea that -- given a chance he (or she) would like a garden -- will find this a refreshing and delightful book. As a novel it is a bit thin, but who cares? It has charm, and a certain sort of humor, and originality. It is the story of a family in which three members ride through life on glamour -- and the fourth, a child of thirteen, carries the family problems on her thin shoulders, and finds her outlet in a passion for her garden. The story is seen through the eyes of the Saturday gardener, who is blessed with ""insatiable curiosity"". Sell to those who liked Down the Garden Path -- but found it a bit precious.
