by Vicki Kimmel Artis ‧ RELEASE DATE: March 1, 1975
Three hyperactive adventures of yet another undersized odd couple. Vole plays the instigator here while visiting the home of the more timid Brown Mouse whose mother is never far away, and he wastes no time letting things' get out of hand -- first when he starts a session of tickling and horseplay that lands Brown Mouse in a crock of butter, then when he captures a giant earthworm that the two drag home to Brown Mouse's house as a ""surprise,"" and finally when he suggests a midnight ""picnic"" that ends in gucky inedible sandwiches of goose fat and vinegar with sour cream. The antics and shouting will keep pre-schoolers occupied, but they're not enough to distract us from the realization that this is just another take off on the suaver companionship of Frog and Toad.
