800 specific ideas- the result of ""18 years of research and testing""- have been presented in paragraph form for home use- where the parent is not to substitute for the teacher but ""add to"", ""enrich"", and presumably facilitate the child's learning experiences. Almost all of this (except for a closing chapter on helping your teen-ager choose, and be chosen by, the right college) is for the mother of a young child, and elementary grade and in every situation there are pointers on the psychologically right approach. On the premise that ""education is most effective when it is disguised as fun"", Mrs. Warren has suggested a good many games, materials, books, etc., which will help apply learning at home-whether of reading, science, languages, self-expression-written or oral, math, music and art. There are tips on learning good manners, safety and health habits, and converting TV to a learning tool. Mrs. Warren has written for Parent's Magazine, Baby Talk, McCall's, which should indicate the level here- practical but pleasantly ""enlightened"".
