THE DUCHESS BAKES A CAKE

There is something Seussian to this marvellous rhyme about a madcap medieval duchess whose pastry goes haywire. Author-artist Virginia Kahl more than repeats the success of her first book Away went Wolfgang. Hunting around for something interesting to do, the Duchess decides to make a cake, but it is so fluffy that it fluffs her right up to the sky. The townsfolk rack their brains (and nearly wreck the Duchess) until the solution dawns on how to get her down. They simply eat the cake.
