A rarely lovely book, which you can confidently recommend to all your customers who enjoy nature books, outdoor adventure, animals. Good escape reading for Armchair explorers, this story of an English girl, undeterred by her lameness from her determination to come to terms with creatures of the African wilds. For five months, she camps in the section of East Africa where she can study ""her"" elephants; for two months she camps on the slopes of Mt. Kenya, in a world of solitude, and there battles a forest fire and becomes a refuge for her wild playmates. Grand reading.
