Here is a most useful handbook for church school libraries, for it simply and authentically answers the many questions as to the meaning of the signs and symbols of the Christian faith. There are clear and attractive drawings, by the author, of all the usual, as well as many unusual emblems of the Church, with descriptive paragraphs, explaining their history and meaning. The illustrations, which make up the heart of the book, are eye-catching, so that the one being sought can easily be found without any necessary clue as to where to look, and the book is small enough so that not one is lost. Though the ""saints"" comprise most of the book, there are also sections on crosses, symbols of God, flowers, fruits and trees, Old and New Testament symbols, and others. This is an indispensable handbook for teaching at all age levels.
