THE BIRTH OF A LINER

The birth of a modern ocean liner is no simple matter. From its conception on the architect's drawing board to its maiden voyage, we are invited behind the scenes to observe the building, launching and operation of a floating hotel. For the lover of luxury, perhaps the most exciting portion of the book describes life aboard the liner from the passenger's viewpoint. Activities aboard ship, lavish menus and details of ocean voyaging are temptingly displayed. A problem arises in audience appeal, since the first section with its emphasis on the building and inner workings is geared for the technical minded male group, while the vicarious trip has more feminine appeal.
