by Walter De La Mare ‧ RELEASE DATE: Aug. 17, 1942
This is a good job of bookmaking, with illustrations in woodblock technique by Bold, illustrations which have a decorative quality that belongs with the de la Mare text. This is a new edition of a collection of short stories, published originally in 1925, and its reissue will be good news to library story tellers and to parents who are looking for good read aloud material. Very English, but delightfully so, with that blend of fantasy and realism that de la Mare does so inimitably. List under READ ALOUD heading as well as under REPRINTS.
