THE BLACK STALLION AND FLAME

Intensely interesting, this is the story of a boy and a horse, both of whom are victims in a trans-Atlantic air accident. When the cargo plane carrying the precious Arabic horse, Black Stallion, crashes in the West Indian waters, both the boy and horse survive although they are separated. A fantastic quest for each other commences into which the author has skillfully incorporated a host of detail regarding bird, animal and fish life. Walter Farley is at once dramatic and informative and his description of natural phenomena is uniquely evocative. A superior adventure tale recommended both for boys and girls.
