THE SANDWICH BOOK

Ann Seranne provides surety of a competent, all-inclusive book and nobody will be disappointed. That the definition of ""sandwich"" goes far beyond the lunchbox, snack or the picnic variety is inevitable. Here we have adequate meals in one- with hot and hearty toast treats, creamed and sauced dishes in sauted bread cases, broiled sandwiches, dessert sandwiches. Sometimes the appeal will be to the jaded appetitie, but in the main these are practical and taste provoking recipes. There are, too, excellent suggestions for picnic meals (the supplies to have on hand), for lunch boxes with sound and healthy advice, for fillings to vary the routine and to use up good leftovers, for children's sandwiches, and for the frills and furbelows of party sandwiches. With al fresco meals a popular way of entertaining, this is a year round item.
