The same two boys who earned money for their bicycles in Wanted Two Bikes embark on another summer of adventure. Now a year older and with the independence their bicycles give them, they are soon engaged in getting at the bottom of a local wave of daylight robberies. In the first chapter a robbery occurs practically under their noses. They camp out on a lonely island, they practise Morse code, follow a strange truck, see strange lights at night, and of course in the end help solve the mystery and bring the villains to justice. Boys will like it -- the plot moves fast, with few wasted words, the type is large for second and third year readers, the style informal and colloquial, in the accepted lingo of the ten and eleven year olds. It is not literature, but it's sound and interesting and may well lure non-readers (and comic book addicts) into an interest in books.
