by Wilhelm Reich ‧ RELEASE DATE: Dec. 1, 1976
A new translation of various autobiographical writings, chiefly covering the years 1927-1939, which were first published in 1953 as Vol. Two of The Emotional Plague of Mankind and have long been out of print. They climax in Reich's discovery of the orgone, ""i.e. cosmic life energy"" (preface to the notorious orgone box), but their real interest lies in his interpretation of the social and political turmoil of Central Europe, the basis of his contention that ""man and his society are mentally ill in the strictest psychiatric sense of the word."" Specific insights catch the reader off guard, so acutely do they anticipate future recognitions.
