Hal and Roger Hunt turn up in exotic territory yet again. Their father, a ame collector who knows that his boys can bring-'em-back-alive (in view of their previous triumphs in Amazon Adventure, Whale Adventure, etc. and etc.) has assigned them to trap young African elephants for zoos. The Hunt brothers' sibling rivalry is most apparent in their conversation which takes the form of a hot and heavy information exchange on African elephant habits. The author, a distinguished naturalist, puts into his heroes' mouths almost everything known about these beasts and their territory and if the resultant backchat doesn't seem real, the facts are. With Watusi and pygmy native help and the kind of adventures that make Tarzan seem timid, the Hunt boys round up their animals while dealing forcefully with a band of slave traders. Lots of facts (up to and including how to burp a baby elephant), lots of fun and lots of readers.
