Robert West and his wife Nan find the warnings that the South Seas island of Ravaroa is not healthy for missionaries all too true while two slimy characters, Wornock and his loathsome mentor Fenner, run the atoll and its divers for their own benefit. West is blocked by them until he discovers a way to blackmail them but their tactics become more brutal and in the height of a storm before Christmas comes the showdown. Then West and Nan and the friends they have made are the means of guiding a ship to safety, saving a mother and baby, and find that there is a new future for them and the island and their faith. Regeneration here is accompanied by melodrama.
