by William Saroyan ‧ RELEASE DATE: Oct. 25, 1951
More buffoonery from Saroyan's beautiful people, with a thick mix of symbolic fantasy and some genuinely amusing moments. Thomas Tracy had a tiger, an obliging, beautiful tiger, who always seemed to know the right answers in regard to Tom's job-getting, love-making and other important problems. Sometimes, of course, the tiger went WOL, which accounted for Tom's not getting the job of expert coffee taster and for his kissing enthusiastically his girl's gorgeous mother, which the girl resented very much. The day the tiger, much to Tom's surprise, became visible, and Tom was sent to Bellevue, where, naturally, all the mad people were nice and very sane, almost wrecks the pleasant and rewarding tiger-Tom relationship. However, some concerted efforts of the police and a psychoanalyst who just can't stop chattering, help Tom to recover his girl, his past and his tiger. A wild, odd story of souls and searches with a wonderful crew of characters -- just for the ride.
