THUNDER ISLAND

Another adventure story of a South Seas island, and a better tale than Ter Tar from . Marshiti had a lot of responsibility for a small boy, and yearned to be called a man, but his sister Reri was glad he was still her comrade. Then came the threat of storm, foretold by the old grandfather, and the two children undertook to stock their larder in a very sensational way. Good description of a tropical storm, with feel of the native temperament up against forces of nature. Beautiful book with illustrations in color and line by Mordvinoff.
