Assuming that you have proceeded past Hatha Yoga, this explicates the simultaneous disciplines Raja Yoga (mind control-via will) and Jnana Yoga (knowledge--via intellect). Yogi Zorn itemizes the various postulates (and postures) which proceed from inhalation and exhalation and visualization onward and upward to meditation and the achievement of samadhi, that ultimate ineffable. In so doing you will have overcome various impurities and trivialities (smoking, drinking and sex--the latter to be resumed only moderately). In the closing chapters there are shorter explanations of ""India's Sacred Heritage"" and the Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita in particular, with extensive excerpts therefrom. Mr. Zorn underestimates the parts intuition and a personal guru play, certainly for the beginner who is left to fend for himself and even such westernized yogis as Nancy Phelan, Michael Volin and Marcia Moore more clearly define the relationship between mind and body and soul which is essential.
