WILD ANIMAL HUNTER

Having spent fifteen years in Africa, first as a war correspondent, then as Acting Chief of the first UNRRA Mission to Ethiopia, and finally as a minor and independent hunter, Wynant Hubbard Davis gives here a lucid account of the circumstances confronting the white hunter in Rhodesia. Although he writes with the journalist's meticulous eye for fact, there is a marked tenderness in his accounts of the men and animals which make up this complex world, a world which he approaches with manly respect and humility. In healthy departure from the Tarzan tradition, Hubbard and his illustrator, Albert Orbean, offer the teen-age reader a refreshing perspective into life in the bushveldt.
