MICKEY THE MONKEY

An unpretentious but friendly little fantasy in which a lucky boy has a satisfying set of adventures with a charming imaginary playmate, one Mickey the Monkey. Tom, doomed to miss a class outing to the Zoo because of a cold, was delighted when a real monkey appeared at the window and suggested going to the Zoo together. What with Mickey's native mischievousness and strange accidents, the pair have some delightful adventures in and out of the Zoo, until Tom, the busy traveler, returns home. Mother thinks he imagined both Mickey and all the daring doings but Tom and the reader, too, know better. A delightful and straight-faced tribute to all childhood familiars and their creators.
