More science fiction from the pen of a lively and popular practitioner. In his latest offering from way out, Dr. Nourse sees Earthmen finally rebelling against the invasions of Spacers from the Asteroid rings who descend on our planet for the food and supplies which they require for survival. Ben Trefon of Mars is excited about his first raid as commander of a ship and key man in a special mission. But this time the Earthmen strike back with force and when Ben and his crew return home they find Asteroid Central in captivity. Duty dictates another return to his raiding fleet, but Ben's mission is complicated by the Earth prisoners aboard his ship and his father's belt of power around his waist. Following an encounter with a Phantom Ship, Ben suddenly assumes responsibility for the Universe in his realization that continued fighting can only mean total annihilation. Readers who enjoy SF may draw timely parallels in reality while enjoying Dr. Nourse's special machinations.
