There is something very special about a fog in its own peculiar movements and in the way it transforms life. The gently poetic text follows the fog in its three day passage in and around a picturesque little resort on Cape Cod, and expresses the reactions of the people to this heavy weather. The paintings capture perfectly the three dimensional mist and its motion. The return to the normal life in the bright, cheerful village plays up the unique qualities of the phenomenon. The mood of the fog has been skillfully evoked by the author and illustrator who teamed up on the award-winning White Snow, Bright Snow and many other excellent picture books.
