BALLAD OF THE BONES and other Poems

A volume of poetry written by a young man whose verse has appeared in The Poetry Chap Books, Poetry World, Prairie Schooner and a number of other progressive magazines devoted to poetry. The first section consists of a series of ballads in the manner of the early Scottish ballads, but with their content derived from the author's native Georgia. They seem -- to this reader -- neither very original nor impressive. On the other hand, the second section of lyrics and the third of sonnets seem to have a certain direct manly vigor. The collection will attract a small audience, -- those who always follow with interest a new name in American poetry, especially those interested in regional accents.
