THE WILDERNESS CABIN

An introduction emphasizing the log and frame cabin as a part of the American way of life, indicating its prevalence in woods and other areas, and noting the ways in which commercial materials can help cut costs, time and labor in building, is followed by chapters on the many aspects of cabin construction. Depending on your social and economic outlook, what kind of a site to choose and what type of living quarters you will want are discussed and detailed instructions for doing it yourself are given for a one room, unimproved ""primal"" structure, modern frame and log buildings, fireplaces and other heating arrangements, and there is further material on actually living in your hideaway. Everything is geared to the utmost novice as well as the more adept, there are illustrations, line drawings and diagrams to insure exact understanding. For anyone contemplating such a project this should be most practical.
