by Carleton Mitchell ‧ RELEASE DATE: N/A
A superior book on boats, the sea, its harbors, and sailing, this combination of interrelated text and pictures. There are boats, cruising and racing, in calm, fog and in storms, in all sorts of rig and with all sorts of sailors, at home, abroad and at anchor, and under all sorts of conditions. The photographs are full page, half page, and quarter page and are all taken by the author who has been part and parcel of every crew pictured so that his ""Camera Primer"" and ""Words About The Pictures"" offer helpful details about marine photography as well as giving the who and where of the subjects. The text is keyed to the illustrations and has an effervescent quality in its love of the sea and the craft of sailing. Good gift book for suits, old and young.
