by Carleton Varney ‧ RELEASE DATE: Dec. 1, 1972
Scads of photographs (which we have not seen) are to illustrate this trunkful of decorating tips, Heloise-style. Mr. Varney is a syndicated columnist, so you may have already seen some of his juleps for the drab digs. He is apt to swing with colors -- melon, white and blue, turquoise, and shrimp (try it with brilliant red). He is bubbling with ideas for tables, corner-fillers and accents like pillows (""Today is definitely the day of pillow decoration.""). In a series of very brief column-length pieces Varney darts about the house, and if you can withstand the kapok prose (""Hello, Mr. Chippendale -- welcome back to town!"") those with free time, ability and hell-for-vinyl daring, may find some clues to action.
