KIRKUS REVIEW

The author of The Gilded Hearse with a second, which should have been unprintable book, chiefly in English scarcely past the bathroom level. This tells of Mattie Dolan, ex-GI at 19, as he returns to his native Yorkville area, NYC, and prepares for a career as ""the future Mr. Dolan"". He prefers High School to $30 a week; he quits when put off the football team for playing dirty-and killing a guy. His amorous attentions center on Gina, 16 and a virgin, and after seducing her, he stages a reefer party- making her available to all his gang, and brings about her death, for which the police can never hold him responsible. The stimuli here if abundant are also unalluring. An unforgivable book. Censor bait.
