CHARLEY, CHARLOTTE AND THE GOLDEN CANARY

Charley and Charlotte. London neighbors, like to play near the market-stall that sells birds. When Charlotte's house is torn down, she moves to a now block of flats; Charley can't find her and her mother won't let her out, Charley earns enough to buy a canary for company, and the bird eventually loads him to Charlotte Where he receives a (pictorially) dazzling welcome. Intense colors in striking combinations overwhelm the minimal story.
