YOUNG PEOPLE OF THE PACIFIC ISLANDS

These essays from the pens of youngsters from all over Oceania have an untouched air, as though they had not been edited, just collected. The young authors write straightforwardly of their lives at school, at home and at play. Their schedules, in many cases, are given in full; date, time, and place of meeting for Girl Guides or the activities of the London Missionary Society. The charm of the pieces may well escape the eyes of juvenile beholders. However the basic information on their various islands is succinctly put and there is little in print at the juvenile level concerning life in this area.
