WITH BYRD AT THE SOUTH POLE

Vic and the son of a Los Angeles dog biscuit maker, is given the chance to follow the Byrd ex by Captain Nilsen whose Norwegian whaling ship is acting as a supplier. Going along as an assistant radio operator (and leaving his attentive sister at home). Vic this, that and the other thing- he is efficient in the communications room, he watchese the whaling, he cares for some of the sick expedition dogs. When, after the settlement of Little America is established, there are times of tension with ice enclosures shortages, and the attempt to fly over the Pole, Vic is the ever ready sender and receiver of valuable messages.
