THE CASSIOPEIA AFFAIR

The setting is the near future with China as the third nuclear power and the game is still brinksmanship when the world is confronted with definite proof of an alien civilization. Gaby, grand old scientist, is the man who heard the signals at the Redo Valley Complex and he rushes the news to America's President Bradley. They both see this as man's chance for disarmament and world peace. But paranoid right-wing extremists who consider Bradley, irresponsible, view it as a chance for a Communist take-over. Less a science-fiction novel than a political thriller, it has an immediate impact.
