EXIT SCREAMING

The mysterious house next door to Jill -- in a small midwestern town -- is laid open to inquiry when the woman who rented it is found murdered -- with her chauffeur and mother among those missing. Suspicion centers on Gene -- newly arrived in the community -- and doubly suspect because of his unknown means of livelihood -- but Jill takes Gene on faith and the two try to solve the murder on their own. A cripple, his half cracked sister, a gunmen's retreat and hospital, confuse the issues which Lieutennant French, Gene and Jill notwithstanding, clears up in his mild, but implacable, way. Satisfactory.
