THE LITTLE GREY MEN

D.J. Watkins-Pitchford, better known as ""B.B."", has written a fantasy in the Wind in the Willows tradition, -- a story in which three gnomes, brothers and good companions, spend an eventful spring and summer among the small animals, the Woods and Stream People, of a peaceful English countryside. There's a certain charm -- a lilt to the telling- but the whimsy is occasionally self conscious, and the cheerful philosophy and aged wisdom of the three woo people never makes that as real and lovable and clever as the inimitable Rat and Mole and their friends. However, it is many outs above most in this category.
