A very nice round with Sports Illustrated's Dan Jenkins where he's written about ""The Glory Game"" he was once a part of (""the author gave up a promising career as a tournament player. . . which might well have led him to the zenith of an assistant pro's job in the lake regions of Wisconsin""). Jenkins' humor has a nice spin and these assorted pieces are about the Scottish antecedence of the game and playing on various Old Courses, or about the Masters and the U.S. Open, or about putting, or about some Hollywood featured players (not Crosby and Hope), or about Sam Snead back in the '30's when the individual had to last it out, or about Arnold Palmer, the doggedest victim of all and ""the nobility he has brought to losing."" No sign of lockwrist ever--casual ever green reportage.
