ASPECTS OF LOVE

A romantic diversion of modest proportions but attractive contours traces the intimate and rather intricate attachments of four lives through the years- from the time when Alexis Golightly, an impressionable youngster, falls in love with Rose, an actress, stranded in a small town in the south of France, and takes her to the abandoned villa of his wealthy uncle George. Their idyll is interrupted by the arrival of Sir George, a youthful sixty, and two years later Alexis returns from military service to find that Rose has become Sir George's mistress. There is an outraged, and outrageous scene, and Rose goes on to marry George and bear him a child, Jenny, so that many years later when Alexis returns- again from foreign shores- it is Jenny who will inspire the affection her mother had once sparked. The situation becomes increasingly impossible- George's jealousy of Jenny and Alexis leads to his death- and Alexis, knowing that Jenny is much too young to commit herself, goes off again.... A worldly dalliance- with the caprices of sentiment and the impulses of passion- this is a pleasant evening's entertainment, recorded with teaste -and grace.
