Attacked by both sides, helped by none, not even UNRRA, with heavy reparations exacted by Russia, here is a country neglected and deprived, losing spiritual faith and physical stamina. The Quakers brought as much aid as was possible, and this is a factual account of their achievements:- food relief, field staff work, life in the barracks; work camps established; distribution of clothing; handling of housing; caring for the destitute.
