Good old days stuff, with something of the Rover Boys' flavor, though who am I to doubt a seadog of forty years standing. It sounds like youngsters having a Richard Harding Davis sort of fling :- search for a gun runner, derringdo of the Navy men, adventures in Borneo, Mindanao, tales of escaped convicts, of native chieftains, Spanish parties, etc.
