An incredible, poorly plotted story is set in a small Dutch village on ake Michigan in 1880. Bram and Piet, inseparable friends, walk into thieves and treasure in a haunted castle which is shunned by the villagers. About this time, the crown jewels of Holland are to be on display in the town; soon they are discovered to be missing. Piet and Bram sidestep danger and gunshots as they retrieve the invaluable jewels. The thieves are captured and ""normalcy"" reigns again. In the story which amounts to little more than a wild chase, the boys and lesser figures are paper thin.
