KIRKUS REVIEW

Another sleek suspense dispenser in the story of Julie, who escaped from Paris and a rich, collaborationist uncle via the underground -- who hid out in New York but was spotted by a German who is shot at her door. She escapes to Santa Fe, is trailed all along, but is intent only on finding Fran, the cousin she loved, and is hoping to get passage out of the country on the Blackbirder, refugee airship. She is hunted relentlessly, witnesses a second killing, finds Fran only to be forced into betraying him, and eventually gaine confidence -- and a future -- through the FBI man on her trail. Her best since the first two -- and grand reading.
