THE NEW WORLD GUIDES TO THE LATIN AMERICAN REPUBLICS: Vol. I

Mexico and Central America are covered in this first volume of travel information and general background knowledge of our neighbors to the South. The two volumes (the second will come in the Fall) together include material estimated to be the equivalent of 21 Baedeckers, and yet in format they are compact, light, and legible. Authorities in different specialized fields have contributed introductory background material on history and culture, practical regional information, etc. The space given to guidebook data, along the lines of American guides, varies of course with the scope of the subject, -- Mexico having a lion's share. Useful as handbook for prospective travelers -- a book for the long haul.
