Pretty thin fare, but good enough entertainment, in the story of the murder of the hated wife of a band leader, and the second murder of the mysteriously disappearing Anne, singer, suspected of being the murderer. A newcomer, Constance Waring, tells the story:-lots of action, against the background of an itinerant band in a small town not far from Chicago; plenty of characters as she gets to know various members of the band. A reasonable enough solution.
