by Edmund Crispin ‧ RELEASE DATE: Dec. 4, 1946
Gervase Pen, Professor of English Language and Literature, and Fellow of St. Christopher (Oxford) takes a tumble from sheer intellectuality into force, as he chaperoned a poet through a murder hard to prove. A live body meets a dead body in a toyshop that is not there; clues are plucked out of Lear's limericks; and a ""Mack Sennett chase of dons and bulls of Oxford combine to give this a crisper touch than earlier Crispin. Still not tops in wide appeal, this- for its special market- is self contained in amusement values.
