WHEELS

Another decorative history by the author of Weapons and Oars, Sails and Steam, efficiently follows the development of one of man's most useful inventions, from prehistoric sledges to the railroad and the motor car. Grooved rollers, the drum wheels on early British ar chariots, Anglo-Saxon hammock wagons of the Dark Ages, French, English and Italian conveyances- poor and rich- of Mediaeval and Renaissance times- these and dozens of others are illustrated in appearance and principle by Mr. Tunis' fine line drawings and expanded in the text. For devotees of anything to do with wheels, this would make a fine present.
